Glycoside Licorice Extract

Refers to glycoside-form actives from licorice root (Glycyrrhiza glabra), most likely glabridin or liquiritin, the compounds responsible for licorice's skin-brightening reputation.

It works through two mechanisms: mild tyrosinase inhibition (the same enzyme family as azelaic acid, from a different source and with a generally gentler effect), and anti-inflammatory action that calms redness-associated discoloration.
